How Time and Treasure Turns Into Keys to an Affordable Home​

Here's a small breakdown of how donations of funds and time translate to constructing new homes:

• Recyclable aluminum, plastic, and metals = dollars for home-build costs.​

• One hour of volunteering saves $35-50 an hour of labor, depending upon the type of construction.

• An individual with or without a trade specialty, a business or church group, or a group of individuals volunteering one to two days translates to hundreds of dollars in labor costs and the satisfaction you contributed to affordable housing in your community! 

• ​$20 = Wall plates for a home

• $50 = 1-gallon indoor paint (400 square foot area)

• $100 = 5-gallon Primer Paint (2,000 square foot area)

• $125 = 1 coil of nails

• $150 = Garbage disposal

• $200 = 1 roll of house wrap

• $450 = 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom doors​​​​​
